Liberty Lagoon is the perfect spot for you and your family to cool down throughout the summer! The BREC’s waterpark has slides, water playgrounds, lap pools, and a FlowRider surfing machine. Liberty Lagoon opened in the summer of 2011 and has continued to improve its amenities ever since. In addition to its exciting rides and pools, the park is equipped with pavillions, shade umbrellas, and much more.
At Liberty Lagoon, there is something for everyone, from large attractions like our the shockwave or bowl slide to their children’s play area and splashpad. The park also hosts events and classes throughout their season. The outdoor waterpark is open May-August. This summer, join us for some fun!
The Dog Park at Burbank Park is a 6-acre, fenced dog park in Baton Rouge. They have two areas: one for small dogs and another for larger dogs. Your dog can enjoy the park’s pond, and they even have a wash station. It is open during daylight hours. Let your dog run free and tire themselves out on the agility course!
We are a pet-friendly community at Chestnut Ridge, and we are happy to provide resources for all of the pet-owners living in our community. The dog park is only two miles from Chestnut Ridge Apartments.
Hilltop Arboretum at LSU is a beautiful and calming place to visit. The 14-acre arboretum was designed like a cathedral with a great hall of grass and hallways of trees spreading from there. You can go across the footbridge that spans a ravine and into the peaceful clearing where tree canopies provide a protective enclosure.
The arboretum is owned by Louisiana State University and has over 50 species of trees including Japanese maple, sassafras, sweetgum, sweet olive, and yaupon holly. Explore the bamboo grove, where you can relax while listening to the breeze in the trees. Hilltop Arboretum is free and open to visitors during daylight hours.
